Lecture 1.1: Jerusalem as Sacred Space (Part 1 of 2) has been uploaded to the iTunes U site. In this lecture, Dr. Robert Cargill discusses what makes spaces sacred, and how Jerusalem overcame the lack of resources traditionally understood to be needed for a successful city and still rose to prominence as a central city to three major faiths. Dr. Cargill also introduces the physical geography of Jerusalem and explains how this has helped shape Jerusalem’s history.
The lecture is available free for download to all who are interested.
